Jason Morrison
Lead Pastor
Jason and his family moved to Murfreesboro in 2008 when he was called to Pastor Westwood Baptist Church. He and his wife, Naomi, were married in 1999, and they have four children: Lydia, Chloe, Karis, and Titus.
In addition to his role as Pastor at Westwood, Jason is actively involved in the community through coaching soccer. He is the Head Coach of Rockvale Middle School Girls Soccer team and is an active coach with King Hammer Soccer Club.
Jason’s favorite Scripture is Lamentations 3:22-24. Some of his favorite authors and preachers are Tim Keller, John Piper, Mark Dever, Hershael York, and Bryan Chapell.

Chris Marks
Associate Pastor to Students & Minister of Music
Chris is originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was brought to Tennessee when he decided to pursue music education at Belmont University in Nashville in 2009. Chris is currently the Orchestra Director at Central Magnet School. Chris enjoys being outdoors, running, lifting weights, playing music and growing plants. Chris’ wife Emily is the Children’s Director at Westwood and stays home with their two children.
One of Chris’ favorite Bible passages is John 11:25-26: (25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”).
Chris loves listening to audiobooks of Christian biographies and some of his favorite theologians are John Piper, Charles Spurgeon and C.S. Lewis.

Hal Sandifer
Associate Pastor of Discipleship & Families
For the past 30 years, Hal has worked as a video producer and director in the Christian publishing industry. Working in ministry and serving as a lay-leader and teacher for many years, in 2014 Hal felt a special calling into pastoral ministry. Hal loves ministering to families and teaching all age groups from children through adults. Along with supply preaching, he regularly teaches adult and children bible studies, and co-leads the church’s Trail Life troop, which is part of a national Christian youth scouting program.
Hal and his wife Melissa were married in 1996 and have three children: Jack, Joshua, and Levi. They are a homeschooling family and love learning and playing together. Along with spending time with his family, Hal loves movies from the classics to contemporary films.
Hal’s favorite Scripture is James 1:22, and some of his favorite authors include: John MacArthur, Voddie Baucham, and Charles Spurgeon.

Melissa Sandifer
Ministry Assistant
Melissa Sandifer, has been serving as Westwood’s church secretary since June 2023. Melissa and her husband, Hal, have been married since 1996 and have three children – Jack, Joshua, and Levi. In addition to serving as the church’s part-time secretary, Melissa also homeschools her children, teaches in children’s department on Wednesday nights, and serves as the church’s Trail Life Troop Treasurer.
Her favorite Scripture passage is Psalm 1:1-3.
